Painter, draughtswoman, stone sculptor and clay modeller, Christine Rombouts is a self-taught artist who honed her technique with José Sahagun of the Rhone workshop Une dimension de plus. Initially trained in drawing and painting, notably at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles and the Académie de Saint-Gilles, she now devotes her time to sculpture (stone and clay) and ceramics.
Highly permeable to the sometimes heavy oscillations of the world around her, her work oscillates between figurative representations of faces and bodies in motion and abstract sculpture. The two often come together.
